Our commitment

Envision Contracting is committed to making ec-gc.com accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe an inclusive web is good business and the right thing to do, and we are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our site and content.

Conformance target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, conformance level AA) across all pages of ec-gc.com.

Measures we take

To work toward and maintain WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we apply the following practices when building and updating the site:

· Use semantic HTML so that page structure and meaning are communicated clearly to assistive technologies.
· Provide descriptive alt text on all meaningful images.
· Maintain sufficient color contrast between text and background per WCAG AA ratios.
· Ensure all interactive elements are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone.
· Use descriptive link text instead of generic phrases like “click here.”
· Allow text to scale up to 200% without loss of content or function.

Compatible assistive technologies

We design and test ec-gc.com to work with current versions of common assistive technologies, including:

· VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
· TalkBack (Android)
· Keyboard-only navigation

Known limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a finish line. We are continuously improving the site, and a few items may not yet meet our target:

· Some embedded third-party content (for example, PDFs we have not authored, or content from partner platforms) may not be fully accessible. We work with partners and update content where we can.
· Newly published pages may take a short time to be reviewed against our internal checklist.
